A WAKIZASHI, the blade of nagamaki form, takashinogi, iorimune, and sakizori, forging details obscured by unfinished
polish, ubu nakago with two mekugi-ana, unsigned, 15th-16th century, 42.1cm long; in black scabbard (repaired) inlaid with pieces of fishbone, the kurikata and kozuka decorated with gilt dragons, and with gilt dragon menuki and fuchi-kashira, the iron Namban tsuba with symmetrically opposed dragons among tendrils, copper-gilt rim; and a wakizashi, the blade honzukuri, iorimune, chugissaki and shallow koshizori with itame hada, midare hamon and midare komi boshi (sumigomori kizu on ura), ubu nakago signed Bishu Osafune Norimitsu, and dated Tenmon sannen nigatsu no hi (1534), 53.6cm. long; with kuroronuri saya (kozuka absent), iron tsuba signed Echizen ju Kinai saku, and hilt with plain fuchi-kashira (hilt restored)
