Asprey dominated the market in portable dressing and writing-cases from the early 1860's when they acquired the Albemarle St. property that linked through to Bond Street. They received the Queen's Royal Warrant in 1862. An unmounted writing-case of this model is illustrated in B.Hillier, Asprey, London, 1981, p.40.
