Lot Essay

A patent sideboard of this pedestal type that incorporated the spare leaves from a dining-table was illustrated in Ackermann's Repository of Arts, Literature, Commerce, Manufactures, Fashions and Politics in April 1810. It was manufactured by Morgan and Sanders (see: P.Agius, Ackermnann's Regency Furniture and Interiors, Marlborough, 1984, p.57, pl.22)
