A Swiss mahogany quarter striking bracket clock, the waisted case applied with carved wood ribbon-tied swags above the dial, the inverted bell top surmounted with am urn finial, the dial with silvered arcaded Roman and Arabic chapter ring with finely pierced and moulded blued hands, the gilt center overlaid with a folaite-pierced silvered mask, the quadrant below painted with a horse and cart, a man fishing in the foreground and with houses beyond, the movement with four back-pinned vase-shaped pillars, triple going barrels, later Brocot escapement, numbered outside countwheel strike on two bells above, the backplate signed Par Droz de sur Pont à la Chaux de Fonds; conforming bracket en suite; circa 1740
