As Dr. Catherine Whistler pointed out this is related to the head, in reverse, of the kneeling apostle to the left of Christ in the Ascension tapestry. Drawings in comparable technique related to the Scuola Nuova tapestries are in the British Museum, at Christ Church, the Metropolitan Museum and elsewhere
