Unknown Old Claret, Possibly Lafite--19th Century
Plain wax seals. Bare remains of Christie's pre-1900 slip labels. The slip labels, are, most unusually, printed "CHRISTIE'S" in bold capitals just decipherable across the top, "Château....", from Christie's, 8 King Street, St. James's, London SW1." Printed accross the lower part of the label. Levels mid to low shoulder
Tasting note, mid-shoulder level: medium-pale but healthy ruddy colour, fully mature; sweet on nose and palate. Though showing its age, very attractive flavour, agreeable weight and style. Very clean dry finish. (MB)
