A SPENCER 1865 MODEL REPEATING MILITARY RIFLE, No. 1615, with blued sighted barrel stamped 'M 1865' at the breech, and with bayonet lug on the underside of the muzzle, , case-hardened action stamped 'Spencer Repeating Rifle Co. Boston Mass. Pat'd March 6 1860' on the receiver, case-hardened trigger-guard and butt-plate, the latter with magazine tube, walnut stock, three case-hardened spring-held barrel bands, iron sling swivels, and most of its original finish throughout, the butt with small brass circular plate stamped 'M+S 114', and oval plate engraved 'Eidgenöß: Modellsammlung. Nordamerika. Spencer. Rifle.'
