1935 BENTLEY 3½-LITRE SPECIAL TOURER

Registration No. 275 FAM
Chassis No. B163EJ
Engine No. N6BO
Blue with red interior.

Engine: six cylinder, twin SU carburettors, 3,669cc; Gearbox: four speed manual; Brakes: four wheel drum; Suspension: semi-elliptic. Right hand drive.

This splendid four seater tourer started life as a 3½-litre saloon. Quite what happened to the original body is unknown, although this new body certainly is an improvement. There have always been individuals who have wanted to create their own style of car, not satisfied with the standard and when talking about Bentley Specials the general ambition is to create a fast car with open style bodywork. This obviously was the case with this car.

The very well proportioned replica body is part fabric with steel engine cover and cycle wings. Its spare wheel is mounted at the rear and the Lucas head and side lamps are covered with a wire mesh. The milometer shows that a mere 29,000 miles have been covered. The last MoT expired in April 1992 and there is a V5 registration document.
