Lot Essay

This drawing, for an unidenitifed project, probably dates from the period 1892-96. Mackintosh's principal, John Honeyman, had an extensive country house practice and Mackintosh worked on several houses for him, including Achamore on Gigha and other houses at Skelmorlie on the Ayrshire coast. This drawing shows details of such a house, in Honeyman's baronial manner which Mackintosh often adopted when acting as Honeyman's assistant.
