Lot Essay

The Palladian style Residence at Hyderabad was built by James Achilles Kirkpatrick (1764-1805) who assumed the position of British Resident after the death of his brother. It was designed by Lt. Samuel Russell of the Madras Engineers (son of the Royal Academician, John Russell).
