Manuscript chart of the isthmus of Panama, showing the north coast from the River Cocle to the Nombre de Dios, including Portobello in the north and Panama in the south, in black ink, wash and colours on paper [watermarked 'D&C BLAUW'], (36.3 x 47.5cm.), with compass rose, rhumb-lines, showing towns, rivers, mountain-ranges, islands, rocks and soundings, the whole within ruled yellow margin.
A highly attractive and detailed manuscript map, probably copied from the printed map of central Panama by Isaak Tirion.
PANAMA - [Golfo de Chiriquí]. A French chart, mid 19th-century, of the southwestern coast of Panama, pencil on thin paper, an inscription and crosses marking a course in brown ink (44.4 x 34.4cm.). (Edges worn, small holes to lower left corner, not affecting map.)
An intriguing pencil sketch of the islands off the west coast of Panama, marking a route from the Punta Burica to the Isla Parida, around the islands of the Bahia de Muertos (Isla Boca Brava) to the entrance of the inlet which leads up to David, the capital of the Chiriqui Province. (2)
