A French ormolu, marble and glass Mystery clock, late 20th century
The rectangular bevelled glass dial with gilt painted Roman chapters within cartouches and with outside Arabic five minutes, with pierced and silvered hands, bearing the spurious signature Ch. Oudin/H.er de la'Etat/Palais Royal 52, within a reeded ormolu frame with shield cresting and resting on berried laurel wreaths, on a variegated red marble platform, the ormolu base cast with an overlapping leaf gallery and resting on bun feet, housing a going barrel movement with platform lever escapement and also with spurious signature Charles Oudin on the backplate -- 14¼in. (36cm.) high
