A BÖTTGER GOLDCHINESEN TEAPOT AND COVER with a bird's head spout and scrolling strap handle, decorated at Augsburg in the workshop of Batholomäus Seuter, each side with an oval panel with Orientals playing games among trees and on terraces flanked by birds on branches and single Orientals standing on terrace supports, the cover with similar figures, the spout, handle, button finial and rims enriched with gilding (some restoration to finial and rim chip restored, minor rubbing to gilding), iron-red lustre 10 mark, circa 1725
