A PAIR OF SPANISH STIRRUPS, of iron, each of wide triangular form, the top bar made in one with an oval leather-loop, the foot-plate with circular central piercing formed of radiating keyhole-shaped slots, the whole surface now russet and damascened in gold inside and out, except for the top of the foot-plate, with foliated scrollwork, arabesques and line ornament, involving bearded fawn masks (damascening incomplete), mid-16th Century
