CORONELLI, Vincenzo Maria (1650-1718). [A collection of 6 views of Venice, along the Grand Canal. circa 1700].
6 etched views forming a panorama of the Canal Grande, each on 2 sheets, 350 x 570mm.
The views show the Piazza San Marco, the Palazzo Ducale and palaces and churches on either side along the Canal, with a procession of barges, presumably to celebrate a carnival down the canal, many decorated with flowers and bows in the shape of animals and birds. The views are numbered 2, 3/4, 5, 9, 10/11 (the centre plate showing San Marco is unnumbered and probably 1). Probably from Coronelli's Singolarita di Venezia [Cicognara 3993]. (6)
