GAKUTEI (fl. mid 1810s-late 1830s): surimono, kakuban, 20.8 x 18cm., a carp leaping up a waterfall, for the poetry club Kamige Suigyo-ren, three poems by Rokusuien Funamori, Rokkyokuen Isso and Rokujoen Sakura-no-tsubo, signed Gakutei and sealed Yashima, collectors' seals of Hayashi Tadamasa and Wakai Kenzaburo --good impression, slightly faded and browned, some soiling, lightly backed, minor damage
