Lot Essay

The sitter is believed to be a member of the Bourchier family of Beningborough Hall, North Yorkshire and may be Mildred (d.1760) daughter of John Bourchier (1710-1759) and his wife Mildred, daughter of Richard Roundell of Hutton Wansley. She married the Hon. Robert Fox Lane.
