For the subjects, see the catalogue of the exhibition La Festa a Roma dal Rinascimento al 1870, Palazzo Venezia, Rome, 23 May-15 Sept. 1997, I, pp. 172-8, figs. 5, 6, 11 and 14, pp. 192-3 and p. 195, fig. 16. For the first picture the artist would seem to have loosely followed Giuseppe Vasi's engraving.
