gouache heightened with gold on paper, in a grassy meadow the Emperor, wearing orange robes, much jewellery and holding a fly-whisk in his right hand, holds a turban pin up in his other hand while the noble, in maroon robes, stands opposite with hands together, gold painted meandering vine border within black rules, (some worming, slight rubbing, extended on right and left), on blue leaf with gold painted floral design, verso with 4ll. of black nasta'liq on floral ground within illumination and further calligraphy, signed by Mir 'Ali, on buff leaf with columns of gold meandering vine, (some wear), mounted
