red morocco, the right-hand board stamped in the centre with an ornate gold trophy consisting of flags, weapons, the Turkish crescent and the tughra of Abdulhamid II (1876-1909) on green, in a raised cusped ogival medallion, spandrels of green and gold roundels issuing vine tendrils, stylised cartouche border, the left-hand board similar with the large green and gold tughra of the Sultan in the centre, spine with panels of lattice work, the title Kitab al-Aghani stamped in it, marbled paper doublures
