A SULTANABAD DISH with flat base, rounded cavetto and flat everted rim on central foot, the interior painted in black, cobalt-blue and turquoise on the white slip under the clear glaze with a design of radiating cusped lines forming a succession of expanding rosettes enclosing panels of dense flowering vine, the rim with a similar band of continuous drop-motifs, the underside with loose black diagonal stripes filled with blue dotted motifs, 14th century (slight restoration)
