TWO POLYCHROME LUSTRE PAINTED FRAGMENTARY BOWLS, each of rounded form with everted rim on short foot, the white interior of one with a design of six radiating lobed segments each containing stylised wheat-ears, the exterior with alternating bands of simple hatched lines, the white interior of the other with a more complex design of large radiating wheat-ear motifs dividing a near random variety of hatched, dotted and roundel panels, plain rim, the exterior with dark hatched roundels on a light hatched ground, the underside of the foot with simple motifs, both 9th century (each incomplete, repaired breaks) 7in. (17.8cm.) and 7 5/8in. (19.4cm.) diam. (2)
