A TURQUOISE GLAZED SYRIAN POTTERY BOWL of rounded form with vertical rim on short spreading foot, the interior painted in black with a roundel of dotted motifs around loosely drawn scrolling arabesques, the sides with simple black horizontal bands, the exterior with three panels of stylised calligraphy alternating with roundels, probably Raqqa, early 14th century (intact, very slight repainting of glaze chips, otherwise in superb condition)
