Bual "C.D.G.C."--Vintage 1941

Bual "C.D.G.C."--Vintage 1941
Bottled in Madeira, July 1976. Stencilled bottles
This wine has an intriguing background. It is a straight vintage wine made by Noël Cossart to mark the birthday of his son David. The Bual grapes come from the vineyard of Fransisco Filhimino in the Campanario distrit. The wine was made using the old traditional methods: no sweetening wine was added and there was no estufa heating. It was fortified with grape brandy instead of the unusual sugar cane spirit, and matured in an oak pipe previously used for the famous 1862 Terrantez
Medium deep, soft yet ethereal bouquet; medium sweetness, perfect weight, exquisite flavour.
