Lot Essay

The albums include views in Burma and Freiburg, family and other portraits. In addition to those by Ferrars, there are examples by P. Klier of Rangoon, a four-part panorama of Freiburg by G. Röbcke and others by Peter MacTaggart, the Ferrars' son. Negatives correspond in part to the subjects included in the album. Also included are seven 10 x 12 in. glass negative views in Burma, titled and dated 1879 in the margin and indistinctly signed [?]Lewis.
