Lot Essay

Andromeda was the daughter of Cepheus, the King of Ethiopia and Cassiopeia. Cassiopeia boasted to be more beautiful than any of the Nereids. As punishment Poseidon sent a sea-monster to flood and waste the land. Cepheus discovered that the god could only be appeased by sacrificing Andromeda to a sea-monster. Perseus rescued her, coming back from Seriphus, where he beheaded the Medusa, and he married Andromeda after killing the sea-monster
