Caucasian, 19th century
The curved ribbed blade engraved on one side with a crowned coat-of-arms, the other with of the Mother of God above the inscription 'Trdia naria utreo Maria', with Cyrillic inscription on the blunt edge, the gilt and niello hook handle engraved with floral scrolls, the fitted worn velvet-covered wooden scabbard with four similarly engraved gilt and niello mounts with two suspension rings and strap, apparently unmarked
