cover 1842 (30 Nov.) entire letter written by William Cotton at "Koolongsou Novbr. 30th. 1842" to his wife in Jersey, having been carried privately to London and put into the post there; the entire bears a Great Britain 1841 1d. unplated (large margins three sides, just clipped at top) tied by good to fine large part strike of the black "6" in Maltese Cross, arrival backstamp of 13 (?) April 1843; some slight creasing and minor perimeter faults but still fine. The three page letter with interesting content.
