XU51857 (28 Oct.) envelope from Guysborough to West Windsor, U.S.A.; originally unstamped and marked with "10 CTS" h.s., the envelope bears a superb neatly cancelled example of the 1851 6d. yellow-green, with 11mm. sheet margin at right, placed inverted and affixed virtually covering all of the h.s., the reverse showing Guysborough (28/10), Antigonish (29/10), Truro (30/10) Amherst (30/10) and St. John (1/11) c.d.s.; the adhesive has been lifted to reveal the h.s. and hinged back in place; "pd 6d" and "Andrews" manuscript ink notations reduced. A. Diena Certificate (1963), when the adhesive was still affixed to the cover, and E. Diena Certificate (1981) with it removed. Photo
