A MEISSEN GROUP OF TWO PUTTI ASTRONOMERS, one wearing spotted yellow drapery and with a raised telescope, the other wearing a spotted lilac robe tied with a red sash, placing dividers on the side of a pale-blue globe enriched with gilt stars, a book and a larger telescope beside them, on a white shaped oval base moulded with gilt scrolls (restoration to first putto's right fingers and telescope, and left lower leg and foot, chip to other putto's drapery), blue crossed swords mark, incised 2460., circa 1880
