A PAIR OF MEISSEN FOUR-LIGHT CANDELABRA, the stems modelled as figures wearing 18th Century style striped and flowered dress, one with a man seated and a young girl standing on his lap, the other similarly modelled with a woman and a young boy, each pair supporting a scrolling cornucopia terminating in a single nozzle, the scrolling arms applied with garlands of flowers and with leaf-moulded nozzles and drip-pans, the shaped square bases painted with scattered birds and insects and moulded with spiralling pink, turquoise and gilt scrolls (small chips to drip-pans and applied flowers and leaves, man's left foot re-stuck), blue crossed swords marks, Pressnummern 99, 70 and 77, incised D177 and D176, painted numbers 16, circa 1880
