A VICTORIAN SILVER PUNCH BOWL
Maker's mark of James Dixon & Sons, London, 1883
Partly lobed urn form, gilt-lined, the molded circular base with dentilated and running fruited grapevine band, the body with two ribbon tied oval cartouches, one initialled, linked by further grapevine, with two massive beaded swing angular handles each issuing from bacchic mask, flanked by fruited and floral clusters, the scalloped rim with stylized shells and foliage at intervals (with a silver-plated wirework frog) --length over handles 16in. (41cm.), 167oz.
