WESLEY, John (1703-1791). Autograph letter signed to Mr. Peter Garforth ('My dear Brother'), London, 11 December 1773, apparently in reply to a letter, 'A person with all ye qualifications you mention is not every day to be met with', and advising him 'not by any means to intangle yourself with a Predestinarian. A sensible, well-tempered woman, fearing GOD, tho not much awakened is far more preferable', one page, 8°, integral address leaf with circular London Bishop mark '11 DE' (slight discolouration, two small holes, two fragments torn away at centre fold and outer margin of second leaf); together with two printed items.
