Uniformly bound in dark brown morocco, the covers with a wide border, comprising variously coloured inlaid morocco panels, scrolls and fleurons within gilt fillet borders, spines in 6 compartments with double raised bands similarly decorated with title and author, doublures of light brown morocco with elborate inlaid variously coloured morocco border of leaves and fruits, the front doublures of each volume with an inset original printing plate to one of the illustrations, silk guards each with an ORIGINAL BATIKED PAINTING by M. de Becque, original wrappers bound-in, g.e., half morocco chemise, slipcase, by Levitzky.
