Maker's mark probably that of John Laughlin, or possibly John Letablere (Jackson, 1989 ED., pg. 637, no. 2), Dublin, circa 1755
Each shallow circular, the broad border engraved with armorials, with applied dentilated rim, the undersides engraved with scratch weights and No. 1 consecutively to No 6--9½in. (24.1cm.) diam., 102oz. (6)

Lot Essay

The arms are those of Mary, Countess of Kildare (1691-1780). She was the eldest daughter of William, 3rd Earl of Inchiqin and married, in 1709, Robert, 19th Earl of Kildare.
