A CHARLES II SILVER PORRINGER WITH A COVER
The porringer maker's mark WG in heart with trefoil below (Jackson, p. 123, no. 16), London, circa 1670; the cover unmarked
Pear shaped with depressed base, the sides chased with a lion in pursuit of a stag with lush blossoms and foliage between, with two caryatid scroll handles, the scene repeated on slightly raised cover topped by baluster finial, engraved under base C over W A--6in. (15.2cm.) high, 15oz.
