Lot Essay

The hoop with its granulation is quite well-known from the late Roman/European Dark Age period. Cf., Dalton, no. 171; and Marshall Rings, no. 969. For the bezel shape, cf. Dagani for examples from Reggio Emilia of 5th Century A.D.
