Dania, loc. cit., connects the present picture, which he dates to the late 1740s, to the Virgin in Giaquinto's Rest on the Flight into Egypt in the Falletti di Villafalletto collection, Rome, and to a Virgin in one of the lunettes of the Museo di Capodimonte, Naples, which served as a preparatory study for the decoration of the cupola at Cesena (M. D'Orsi, Corrado Giaquinto, Rome, 1958, p. 122, fig. 162 and fig. 90 b)
