gouache on cloth, painted mostly in monchrome grey-blue, within a plaited arch containing cartouches of figures and animals, the god stands, wearing a green turban, white dhoti and jewellery, with his left hand raised and his right hand at his waist, while a massive snake entwines itself round his body, white border with inscription below, polychrome floral outer border, wooden stretcher at either end

The bold simplicity of the colour scheme and iconography of this painting are very unusual.
