the black lacquer ground painted with gold scrolling vine and cloudbands around the gold stamped cusped arabesque medallion, pendants and spandrels, black border with sayings of the Prophet regarding his son in law, 'Ali in gold naskh, (some flaking, small repairs), maroon morocco doublures with very fine gold and blue decoupé medallion, pendants and spandrels, gold and maroon rectangular cartouche border, (negligible wear)
