gouache heightened with gold on paper, in an open square with a rocky landscape and castle behind, a group of men gather on the roof and around the entrance of a building within the door of which can be seen a chain, while nearby other men go about their business making their wares, buying and selling, others watch wrestlers, (creasing and flaking), applied gold and polychrome illuminated band and hemispherical portion above, associated black-ground scrolling vine border between green, orange and gold margins and black rules, mounted on pink leaf painted with gold plants, birds and animals, silver outer margin, (some rubbing and flaking)
