Lot Essay

The partnership between Henry Miles and John Edwards worked from this address between 1822 and 1844 when they were taken over by C. Hindley and Sons. (for whom see lot 99 in this sale). Like George Morant, the partners also supplied furniture to Wynyard Park and this other Durham connection suggests these pole screens were definitely supplied for Raby, not Cleveland House
