Fifty-nine albumen prints, each approx. 8½ x 10¾ in. or the reverse, one 9 x 11½ in., one titled and three numbered in the negatives, one with blindstamp C.R. Lambert. Singapore on recto, two with photographer's credit stamp Afong Photographer Hong Kong on verso, one signed in the negative Sze Yuen Ming & Co., mounted on card, the majority with ink titles on mounts, one matted. Lot Essay

The majority come from two albums, one containing photographs by Afong Lai. Images include several views around Canton, Shangai and Hong Kong, street scenes, a hotel in Singapore, an execution scene and a view showing the clock tower in Hong Kong before it was destroyed by the typhoon in 1872.
