Lot Essay

According to Jamie Reid, this is one of only two proofs in existence for this version of the album cover. It differs slightly to the final version with a different Virgin logo and different layout on the back cover. In addition, the fluorescent pink colour on this proof appears more red - the finished sleeve was apparently a printer's nightmare as yellow and fluorescent colours are notoriously difficult to print, hence the more muted tones on this proof.
