Lot Essay

The statement contained in this artwork about Punk Rock sums up the Punk movement's manifesto. It was written by Malcolm McLaren and Jamie Reid and, according to the latter, That statement was probably as articulate as we ever got.
The image on the front of the single sleeve captioned Vicious-Burger was an attack on consumerism and was used as the theme of a campaign, devised by Reid following Sid Vicious' death just a few months earlier, suggesting that Vicious' body had been stolen and turned into hamburger meat.
