Lot Essay

This track was the title track on the Smiths second album, Meat Is Murder, which was released in 1985 and entered the U.K. charts at number one.

The fact that the band chose to reproduce these lyrics in two of their tour programmes reflects Morrissey's strong, and often vocalised, views on Vegetarianism at this time.
