Original vellum-backed boards, paper spine label (Carter and Sparrow B), uncut (minor wear, few nicks to label); cloth folding case (worn). Provenance: Philip A. Robson (bookplate and signature on endpaper) -- purchased from John F. Fleming, New York. Exhibited: Grolier Club 'This powerfull rime,' 1975, no. 64.

FIRST EDITION, one of 350 copies of Housman's endearing lyrical collection (an additional 150 copies were issued in America with an 1897 title-page). A definitive priority to the spine labels has not been established. Carter and Sparrow 11; Hayward 305; Tinker 1243.
