8o (142 x 88 mm). Engraved frontispiece portrait. (Some very light occasional soiling.) Contemporary English calf gilt, speckled edges (light wear along joints, lacks lettering-piece). Provenance: Robert King (faint inscription on title) -- Algernon Charles Heber Percy (bookplate) --purchased from Pickering & Chatto, London, 14 July 1972.

Second edition of Corbet's collected poems, but the first issued under this title and with this selection of poems. Twelve poems from Certain Elegant Poems (London, 1647) are omitted and ten new verses are substituted. It contains the first printing of the penultimate stanza of "Farewell Rewards & Faeries," Corbet's best known ballad. Grolier Wither to Prior 198; Hayward 91; Wing C6272.
