A 13-Bore Flintlock Sporting Gun

With rebrowned two-stage twist barrel, turned girdle and silver spider fore-sight, the octagonal breech with copper-lined maker's stamp and gold-lined touch-hole, shaped tang with characteristic engraving, flat lock retained by two side-nails and with moulded border, roller, stepped tail, and second form of signature, figured walnut half-stock (some wear and bruising) carved in relief with a shell behind the barrel tang, chequered grip with a dot in the centre of each diamond, finely engraved iron mounts including trigger-guard with first pattern acorn finial, horn fore-end cap, and horn-tipped ramrod (iron parts with some areas of surface pitting), London proof marks
