Lot Essay

Enamels by this Geneva artist are extremely rare. Apart from the group in the Musée de l'Horlogerie et de l'Emaillerie, Geneva, two specimen, both dated 1740, are known, one in a Belgian private collection and one in the Museum Briner und Kern, Winterthur. A portrait of a cleric, dated 1741, is in the Louvre.
